    Independent
    was the
    new player with the hottest shit around as the 70's disco-hustled into the 80's.  The future of skating look immense, and with trucks that actually turned and didn't break, Stage 2 launched in 1979.  The clunky lintel-and-post pivot arms of Stage 1 began to smooth out with more beefy-but-sleek heft, mirroring the fat curvilinear decks they carried.  It would take several more stages for Indy to achieve the ultimate graceful arcing lines, and renowned durability of their final designs, but these solid beauties are an important benchmark in the Indy lineage.
