    Description

Beautiful Smith Brothers ribbed melon shaped biscuit barrel,  with satin ivory over opal glass. Hand painted with carefully detailed pansies in continuous design, outlined in gold, and top is fitted with an originally silver plated rim, handle and lid. The enameled panies are painted in muted colors and outlined with gold that is 95% intact, as is all the enameling of the pansies. Base has some wear of ivory on the areasof the base that the jar rests on, and most of the silver plate is gone on the metal parts. Inside of lid has letters 'S. B.', numbers and an image impressed into the middle of the lid. Please see all the pictures as they are an important part of the description.
There are no cracks, fractures or repairs noted to the glass. Other than the silver plate missing, there are no dents, dings, cracks or missing elements on any of the metal parts. This 140 year old treasure is in amazing condition.
Approximately 7" in diameter and 6" in height, including knob on the lid.
Careful double boxing and packing for safe shipping.
NOTE: JUST SAW THAT THE COLOR OF THIS IS MORE YELLOW LOOKING ON THE EBAY APP, THAN THE ACTUAL COLOR -IVORY -WHICH IS CORRECT COLOR WHEN VIEWING ON A PC MONITOR. THE IVORY PART IN THE FIRST PICTURE IS THE ACTUAL CORRECT COLOR.
