    Description

    The headline reads "John Lennon Remembered" and was published by the San Jose Mercury newspaper Wednesday morning, December 10, 1980. This is the original authentic vintage Living section of the newspaper, not a reproduction, following the day the music died;
    "There were Paul, Ringo, George - but John WAS the Beatles."
    Overall, it's in good to very good condition and will absolutely be an impressive display item for any fan, collector, enthusiast, or historian. There is slight brown discoloration behind "Peace" and some foxing along the right edge.
    These are not necessarily uncommon given the age of the piece.
    Size is 14x23 inches half fold tabloid with 8 pages of content.
    On the evening of 8 December 1980, English musician John Lennon, formerly of the Beatles, was fatally shot in the archway of the Dakota, his residence in New York City. The perpetrator was Mark David Chapman, an American Beatles fan who had travelled from Hawaii. A worldwide outpouring of grief ensued on an unprecedented scale. Crowds gathered at Roosevelt Hospital and in front of the Dakota, and at least three Beatles fans committed suicide. (Wikipedia)
