From the author:  You asked for it, you've got it! Bargello Jacquard, the ultimate in machine knitting!  We took "The Electric Rainbow" and reworked as many designs as we could for 24 stitch punch card machines.  A few new designs were added to round out the collection, and I included FOUR WAY BARGELLO to this text.  The designs are recommended for double bed work, but can be used on the main bed alone.  Instructions for Knitking, Brother and Studio knitting machines accompany the text.
Bargello is also known by needle artists as Flame Stitch.  Bargello is normally used on canvas mesh.  The  charm comes from the colors used and the fact that each design is repeated over and over again on the fabric, producing the effect of motion.  The collection presented in this book is provided just for your knitting pleasure.  No great deal of study should be necessary in order to use these designs.  If you wish to know more about how these designs have been converted to work on our knitting machines, I recommend the study of the "930 Safari" book (also listed on ebay as Detailed exercises for 930/940 part 2). This teaches the progressions used to knit many colors in a row and what effect his method of knitting has on the fabric. Safari is not just for 930 knitters, it is the knitters workbook!
In 24 stitch flames Mary Louise Norman concentrates on the double bed yarn changers.  Bargello Jacquard as she has named it, combines the included designs with the benefits of jacquard knitting, thus eliminating the "floats" on the back of th eknit and producing a very versatile, soft, flowing fabric when knit at aloose tension, and a very firm, suitable type fabric for tailored garments when knit at a tight tension.
This book explains what a grid is and how to punch your cards. How to deal with the color change notation. How to use these on mylar sheets.  How to use on the 930 through 970 knitting machines.  What yarns are suitable.  How to handle color selections.  How to use the RK900, KR850 and The Change Knob ribbers. Bargello Jacquard on a Bulky 260.  A quick note on the Toyota machines, yes,, you can use this book too.
